The Freer Family Tree Foundation (FFTF) seeks to make life better for children around the world in a number of ways that include an online crowdsourcing platform for charitable projects. One of the latest projects to appear on the nonprofit’s site has set a goal of bringing housing and education to children in a Cambodian village.
The brainchild of the Children & Development Organization (CDO), the project will provide improved care and education for 50 children in Cambodia’s Siem Reap Province. CDO has identified 1.5 hectares of land where it can build five houses and a school, as well as a farm, a small medical center, and a vocational training facility. While the project has set a lofty goal with the construction of an entire village, it has been designed in such a way that the village can be built one piece at a time, as funding is procured. CDO will start off by building a restroom facility and continue from there. It aims to raise $200,000 via the FFTF website, www.freerfamilytreefoundation.com, and will offer special recognition to donors who pledge $50 or more.
